Africa's Next Top Model coming SOON!!

I am extremely excited to say that we are gonna have our own Top Model show thanks to Tyra Banks!! the show, Africa's Next Top Model will be hosted by Nigerian supermodel Oluchi Onweagba Orlandi and it turns out, she will also be coproducing it! Oluchi is internationally has graced the covers of Elle Magazine and Italian Vogue as well as being a Victoria's Secret Angel.

Oluchi on coproducing - “I am excited to be hosting Africa’s Next Top Model and it is great to be part of the successful America’s Next Top Model franchise that Tyra Banks created and has hosted for an impressive 20 cycles thus far in the U.S. The African version of the franchise is long overdue and I expect the show to be a smashing success across the continent. My company, LuLu Productions, will be partnering with Never Machine productions with Gavin Wratten as co-executive producer and also one of the giant media houses to help make this show a big success.”

The show will be the same procedure as the other existing shows. it will have 12 contestants competing over the course of 8 weeks. nobody knows who the judges will be yet but we are definitely keeping our ears open for that!!

Miss Tyra Banks took to Twitter a few days ago to give us the incredible news:

The new show will air later this year and will be shot in Africa's fashion capitals, Cape town and Joburg on these following channels; Vuzu (Domestic), Vuzu (Africa), Mzansi Magic (Domestic), Mzansi Magic (Africa), AfricaMagic Entertainment (Africa), AfricaMagic Entertainment (Domestic), AfricaMagic Family (Domestic), AfricaMagic Family (Africa), AfricaMagic World (Africa) in addition to terrestrial rebroad.

Model of the Moment: Dave Kabamba

“I aim to be the best the industry has ever seen and I know with God's help and hard work, this will happen. I won't let the slightest thing distract or stop me from making that a dream a reality.”

I met this Congolese stud just last year and he absolutely blew me away at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Africa in October 2012. Dave Kabamba, only 18 years of age, started modeling in 2012 just as a trial period to see if he had what it took and was rather surprised by his success in the fashion industry.
Dave made his debut at SA Fashion Week in March 2012 for PALSE HOMME by Paledi Segabo and has had a successful career going forward. He has since walked for various Designers during SA Fashion week, including; Ephymol, Mzanzi, House of Ole and Roman Handt.

Dave has also worked with African Fashion International, also known as the “gateway to African fashion”, by participating in Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Africa in October 2012 for designers Laurence Airline and Projecto Mental. He’s set to walk the runway for MBFWJ this March.
Dave has also been featured in various magazines such as Style Joburg, Gaschette Magazine and in Voila Magazine with Miss South Africa 2011, Melinda Bam.

Not only known for his gaze and chiseled jawline, Dave strives to work hard and does not let any kind of setback get in his way. With that attitude as well as versatility, one cannot see how Dave cannot be one of the biggest male models in Africa.
